Paraeducators "Living Wage" Mobilization Meeting

Date:

 Wed, 02/15/2023 - 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This virtual meeting is organized by a coalition of labor unions representing public school paraeducators, including MEUI Local 506. The purpose is to develop a collective legislative action strategy to secure living wages, more professional development, and a stronger voice in planning and placement meetings for our students.

Agenda includes a discussion of efforts to build on last year’s passage of legislation implementing recommendations of the school Paraeducator Advisory Council to improve paras' working conditions further.

In response to the latest COVID-19 surge, leaders of our coalition of unions representing school district employees have revised the 13 core principles for safe and healthy schools. We are providing them to state officials with a simple demand; take action now before attempting to resume in-person learning after the winter break.
